Born Hrisafie Hariklea Hadgis, “Chris” is Greek American. She grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Chris’s love of art and story-telling began as soon as she could hold a pencil. At age 9, she wrote and illustrated a book about herself as a dinosaur.
Chris majored in Sociology, studying human rights abroad in Argentina. Fresh out of college, MetroSports published Chris’s first article about captaining an all-women’s adventure racing team at VentureQuest in Virginia. Her early career also included writing on-air promotions for Discovery Communication’s, The Learning Channel. Chris later graduated from a professional theater school, Circle in The Square in New York City, and wrote and performed sketch comedy shows at The Second City in Los Angeles.
In addition to her work as a copywriter for ad agencies in Vermont, Chris reports for local and national publications. She has written gear reviews, human-interest narratives, and service journalism essays for The Los Angeles Times, Gear Junkie, The Radavist, Cycling Weekly, Seven Days, Bicycling magazine, and more.
